EGBD Challenge Cup

The EGBD Challenge Cup will be played during November, December and January, and we estimate this will be, circumstances permitting, a 10 round weekend competition, and an 8 week Midweek competition – with no finals (top of table wins).

● There will be an inaugural trophy for new interclub competition presented by the EGBD;
● Clubs are able to combine with another Club and enter a team;
● Individual Club members are encouraged to approach and combine with members of another Club to form a team;
● No permit will be required. Where an individual player aligns with another Club, the player and
Club can negotiate the particulars of the membership requirements;
● The Challenge Cup will retain as many of the Pennant Rules depending on their relevance including players in a team, uniforms, scoring, number of rinks per section, player behaviour, 25 ends with a comfort break; and
● The Challenge Cup will be administered by the Challenge Cup Committee.
The Challenge Cup Committee:
● reserves the right to limit the number of teams entered;
● reserves the right to make changes to rules and any other organisational aspect of the competition;
● requests the Clubs to act responsibly when advocating the standard of the team (Div. 1 standard etc.) on entry;
● will assess the viability of a Midweek competition depending on entries received and available greens;
● will determine the number of rounds and teams per section will be determined based on the entry of teams and the greens made available by the Clubs; and
● requests Expressions of Interest in writing from Club members to join the Challenge Cup Committee with facilitating this competition.
Entries will be completed by the Clubs on the form provided, and must be sent to the
secretary of the EGBD no later than 16 October 2020.
